Film Trailer: Taken 2

Taken 2

The length of the trailer 2m 23s shows snippet of action and thriller evolving around the genre, with the trailer being fast pace, with flashbacks from the original Taken on the kidnapping of his daughter.  Vice-versa, to Taken 2 where the narration of the trailer is about the family of former government operative Bryan Mills is targeted once again when his wife gets kidnapped, where the film is set in Istanbul, this is linked to Mise En Scene, the setting of the film on the loaction on where it's based upon. In addition, to the narration, there is establishment of characters that have a strong-bond relationship for example the Mum and daughter are seen at the start of the trailer signifying their importance in the film.

The characters that signify more in the trailer are important in the film for example: At the start of the trailer the daughter says 'Dad' in a calm and cool tone of voice. Representing straight away the symbol of family! Denotation of a Father and daughter figure and bond with each other when they hug. Although connotation of family being hurt by the bad people but brings attentions and fear upon the trailer to see if the mother is going to be saved by her husband but a long hard battle and barriers are upon him. Which keeps us interested in the film.

Although the music is based around the ambient sound signifying the importance of the action in the film but the transitions are fast, quick and snappy. Giving the tone of the film being exuberant and thrilling, keeping you on your edge of your feet, building up the tension.  This also involves the text showing the date of release and the characters starring in the film, is an importance to let the audience know who is in the film and the important information they need to know about. Nevertheless, the diegetic sound of the drumming beats ensure tensions and dramatic drama is continued and it keeps the audience interested.
